Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to use Passdesk: school owners, instructors, learners and the parents who help them practise. Here's where we've got to, and how to tell us when something gets in your way.

What this covers

This statement covers the Passdesk website at passdesk.co.uk, including school pages, and the Passdesk app at app.passdesk.co.uk. It doesn't yet cover the Passdesk mobile apps, which we haven't tested in the same way.

The standard we work to

We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. That covers colour contrast, keyboard access, visible focus, form labels, touch target sizes and how screen readers announce each part of a page.

How accessible Passdesk is

Passdesk partially meets WCAG 2.2 AA. Most pages pass our automated checks, and the known exceptions are listed below.

We check every page of the app with axe, an automated accessibility tester, signed in as each type of user, in both the light and dark themes. Automated tools catch a lot, but they can't tell you whether a page makes sense with a screen reader or a switch. No independent auditor has assessed Passdesk yet. That's why we say "partially" rather than claim full compliance.

Settings that can help

Inside the app, the accessibility panel lets you change how Passdesk looks and moves. Open it from the accessibility button at the top of the screen, or press Alt + A on any page.

  • Text size: four sizes, and every page reflows to fit.
  • Light, dark or match your device: the choice follows you to your other devices when you're signed in.
  • High contrast: stronger borders and brighter text on a black background.
  • Enhanced focus ring: a thicker outline on whatever the keyboard is on.
  • Reduce motion: turns off non-essential animation. We follow your device's setting too.
  • Dyslexia-friendly font: switches to Atkinson Hyperlegible, designed for readers with low vision.

On this website, the theme switch at the top of each page does the same job as the app's light and dark setting, and the two stay in step.

What we know isn't right yet

  • Dragging lessons in the diary. Moving or resizing a lesson by dragging it needs a mouse or touch. You can make the same change with a keyboard by opening the lesson and editing its date and time.
  • Services from other companies. Card payments run on Stripe's checkout, maps come from Google and some forms use Cloudflare's bot check. We choose providers that take accessibility seriously, but we can't fix their pages ourselves.

Tell us about a problem

If something in Passdesk is hard to use, or you need information in a different format, email [email protected]. Tell us the page and what got in your way. We'll reply and tell you what we'll do about it.

If you're learning with a school and the problem is with the school's own content, such as a document they uploaded, tell your school as well, because they can change it.

If you're not happy with our reply

In the UK, the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) can advise you. If you're in the EU or EEA, your country's accessibility or consumer authority can help.

About this statement

Prepared on 7 October 2026 from our own testing. We'll review it whenever the app changes in a way that affects accessibility, and at least once a year.
