Your full driving-test toolkit, run by you.
The same rubric, theory bank and practice routes a Passdesk school gives its students. Use them between paid lessons or when you’re practising with a parent.
7-day free trial · No card needed · Cancel any time · £9.99/mo after
Four parts of test prep, in one app.
Self-mark rubric
Score yourself against the driving-test syllabus. Test-ready % and time-to-test estimate roll up automatically.
Theory + mock tests
A question bank across all 14 theory categories, with a confidence score for each topic.
Practice routes
Plot or record routes on test-centre catchment maps, and rehearse them with family before test day.
Your own logbook
Your progress stays in your own record. Add an instructor to your solo account any time and they can pick up where you left off.
Your test, handled under the 2026 DVSA rules.
The DVSA changed how car tests are booked in 2026. Passdesk walks you through each step from getting ready to test day, so nothing catches you out.
- Only you can book, change or cancel your test. Since 12 May 2026, instructors, family and booking apps can’t do it for you.
- You get 2 changes per booking. Since 31 March 2026, and a swap counts as one.
- You can only move to a nearby centre. Since 9 June 2026, a test can move to one of the 3 centres nearest where it’s booked.
- Give 10 full working days’ notice to keep your fee. Saturdays count, Sundays and bank holidays don’t.

Changes and the last free day
Passdesk counts your 2 changes and shows the last day you can move your test without paying again.

FAQ for learners
Do I need an instructor?
No. You can use Passdesk solo on your own between lessons, or while you practise with family. The rubric, theory, practice routes and test prep all work without an instructor. Invite one any time and they join your logbook.
Will my progress carry over if I join a driving school later?
Carrying your solo logbook — rubric, theory results, and practice sessions — into a Passdesk school is being built now, with no date on it yet. Your solo workspace keeps its own copy.
How much does it cost?
£9.99/month after a 7-day free trial, and you don’t need a card to start the trial. Subscribe from your account whenever you’re ready and the days left on your trial carry over. Nothing is charged unless you subscribe, and you can stop any time.
Can my instructor or a booking app book my driving test for me?
Not any more. Since 12 May 2026 only the learner can book, change or cancel their own car test with the DVSA. Passdesk doesn’t book for you either: you book on GOV.UK, add it to Passdesk, and it keeps track of your changes and the last day to move it for free.
Does it cover hazard perception?
Not yet. Theory practice and mock tests cover all 14 theory categories, including the hazard awareness questions, but there are no video hazard perception clips.
Can my parent or partner help me?
Yes — you can share routes with anyone you’re driving with. Theory practice runs on your own login. Add an instructor when you’re ready for paid lessons.
