Progress rubric
A rubric built around the driving-test skills: tap a skill to move it from needs work to working on to mastered, leave a line for next lesson, and watch the learner’s test-ready percentage build.
What's included
- The driving-test skills already listed, grouped by area
- Each skill is not covered, needs work, working on or mastered, one tap per step
- Goals for next lesson, shown again when the next lesson opens
- Test-ready % worked out from the skills you’ve marked
- Time-to-test estimate once there are a couple of weeks of marks
- Hide, rename, reorder or add skills for your school
How to mark a lesson on the progress rubric
- 1
Open the lesson
At the end of a lesson, open the rubric from the lesson on the web or in the app. Any goals you set last time sit at the top.
- 2
Mark the skills you covered
Tap a skill to move it on a step, from not covered to needs work, working on and mastered, or tap the state you want. Leave the skills you didn’t touch today alone.
- 3
Set goals and save
Add a line for next lesson and save. The test-ready % updates, and the learner sees their progress in their own portal.
FAQ
Can I customise the rubric?
Yes. A school owner, or staff given permission to manage skills, can hide, rename, reorder or reweight the standard skills and add the school’s own.
Is it faster than paper?
Most marks are one tap, and you only mark what happened in the lesson, so a lesson takes well under a minute. If your school has voice memos switched on, you can talk the lesson through instead and Passdesk suggests marks for you to keep or change.
How is the test-ready percentage worked out?
Mastered skills count in full and skills being worked on count for half. Skills not covered yet are left out until they’re marked.
How accurate is the time-to-test estimate?
It’s an estimate, not a guarantee. Passdesk looks at how the test-ready % has moved across recent marks and projects when it reaches 80%. It only shows once there are at least two weeks of marks and the learner is moving forward.
