Common questions
Does a car’s body type affect your chance of passing?
Body type is only one factor — instruction, practice, and how well the car suits the learner matter far more. But smaller, easier-to-place cars can make manoeuvres and all-round visibility easier, which tends to show up in the rankings.
How is this measured?
For each body type we count the practical driving tests logged in Passdesk against a car of that type and the share that passed. Aggregations run nightly, and any body type with fewer than 20 practical tests is dropped before publication so no figure can re-identify a person.

How this is calculated
Every Passdesk lesson and test attempt is logged by the school that delivered it. Aggregations are produced nightly; for each car body type we count the number of practical tests recorded against a car of that type and the share that passed. The body type is that of the car sat in for the test.
Buckets with fewer than 20 practical tests are dropped before the figures are stored, so the table will never contain a thin row that could re-identify someone. The aggregator only reads dimensional fields (car make, model, transmission, body type, outward postcode prefix) — names, emails, phone numbers, full addresses, licence numbers, and dates of birth are never touched.
